3/9/16: “A Heart Waxed Cold”

A Heart Waxed Cold

Matthew 5:14-16 KJV

Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.  Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Like a burning candle….the flame gives off energy thus making light and warmth.  When the flame goes out…the wax on the wick hardens, thus the term, “Waxed Cold”. The same concept with a heart on fire for God.

Revelation 3:15-16 NIV
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot.  I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

The energy is service unto God that shines the light of Christ for others to see along with the warmth which stands for the love of Christ!

James2:14-17 KJV
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?  Can faith save him?  If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit ?  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

When the heart waxes cold, it is due to a lack of service unto God.  Having a lack of a word life and a prayer life, leads to weaker and weaker faith and trust in God.  When ‘Faith’ knows God can, and, ‘Trust’ knows that God will.  By the way,…a prayer and word life is NOT a service unto God, but a service for your own Spirit for you to nurture it, and by doing so, allowing it to grow stronger.

Psalm 46:10 KJV
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen; I will be exalted in the earth.

John 10:27
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Like in any good relationship, communication, listening, applying and action are the keys.  Having the lack of an intimate relationship with God makes the light get dimmer and the warmth grow colder.  However, the more you, STOP, DROP, PRAY, and LISTEN, the more you will learn the voice of God and the more your faith and trust will grow; thus, the more energy for the light inside of you to burn brighter and hotter.  That is why God gave us two ears and one mouth…to listen twice as much as we speak.

Basic Nature fact: Snakes do not like fire.

Basic Chemistry fact: It takes Oxygen for a flame to burn.

The flame and light of your heart will start to grow dimmer and dimmer due to a lack of prayer life, word life, faith, trust, and works.  The flame is needed to shine the light of Christ that is in you so that others may see.  The stronger the flame, the brighter the light, the brighter the light and the snakes will stay away.  Think of demonic spirits as if they were controlled pythons, controlled by the devil himself.
What do pythons do?  They squeeze all the oxygen out until the prey is weak and faints.  If you do not hear and listen to the voice of the one true Shepard, Jesus Christ, this will allow them to sneak in and get a grip on your heart.  If you do not heed to the sound of the one true voice, then the light of Christ that is burning in your heart will not be burning for long.

The pythons will come in and squeeze out the oxygen, thus taking more energy away from the flame.  This will cause the flame grow weaker and weaker and finally no oxygen remaining means the flame goes out completely and your heart flame is waxed cold!
Saints, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, our confessed Lord and savior, I urge you this day to begin, more than ever before, to keep your guard up against the enemy; to grow closer to God and to go deeper in His Word than ever before.  To be on your knees longer than you have ever been.  I urge you take heed to Ephesians 6:11 which states: “Put on the whole armor of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

One final thought:

“May your bibles never get dusty and may your knees ache with passion!”  – Unknown
