09/11/2016: Finding Praise

The book of Psalms is known as the book of PRAISE, the individual most mentioned is David. David was known as “the sweet psalmist of Israel” How could such a mighty King, Warrior and leader of people have such a mighty impact of praise? How can we learn from him and so many others when praising GOD?

Psalm 34 – Happiness to those who TRUST GOD!

1  I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Praise/Worship God

Praise is not something that always comes naturally but is YOUR best weapon against Satan. Genuine praise must flow from your heart even during the hardest of times, it produces victory and victory takes you deeper into praise.

Worship is not just an experience it is an act of service, ushering or out pouring of yourself glorifying God.

Psalm 34

4  I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Give Thanks

Give thanks to God in all things, in all situations TRUSTING that HE is the maker and creator of all things. Reach out to Him and LISTEN to His direction, TRUST in HIM! All of these are actions to follow at all times.

 Psalm 34

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

Honor Wisdom

(Proverbs 1:7 Fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.) Fear means to have reverential awe of.

Look at vs 13-14 “Why are these instructions so hard for some?” Lack of Trust? Or lack of belief?

 Psalm 34

18 The LORD is nigh (near) unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Walk in Righteousness

Those who walk in right standing (upright) with God will suffer affliction, our faith in the Lord does not offer immunity but it offers overall VICTORY. (2 Tim 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.)

Recap: Praise/Worship God – It is not about what come natural but what is genuine from the heart beyond our comfort but to Gods Glory. (Think as a child)

Give Thanks – Giving thanks and saying thank you are 2 different things. Giving thanks to God is an action. Knowing that you take joy in who God is and what He has given you.

Honor Wisdom – Trust in God, adore Him and learn the instructions of His word.

Walk in Righteousness – Upright, shoulder squared, knowing that in all integrity no matter what the affliction God has the VICTORY.

Graham Truscott said “When God’s people begin to praise and worship Him using the Biblical methods He gives, the Power of His presence comes among His people in an even greater measure.”

Many Blessing ~  Pastor Jana Holt
